Very much enjoy your lessons. They have expanded my approach to playing and appreciation for jazz.
As a self taught player, I'm playing serious catch up with all on your site, but enjoy the challenge.
It would be extremely helpful if a lead sheet for each new tune introduced was part of the PDF with the entire tune in the key your playing it in. Without these, guys like me who have heard a standard (well, many of them) but never attempted them are left with digging around a fake book or the internet and the transposing some to the key you are teaching in.
Additionally, even though your advanced players might be bored or could skip it with the new site, a run through of the entire tune up front with appropriate description of what's going on (II Vs, substitutions...) would be helpful for the aspiring jazz players.
I really appreciate your beefing up of the comping ideas and the transcription of those. When you getting going, you getting going and whilst I'm sure the fluent players are following what you are doing, guys like me can refer to the transcriptions (tabs in my case) to decode the parts.
Thanks again and congrats on the new album. Great stuff!
Thanks for all of you thoughts, I appreciate that very much. I've always been a little bit paranoid about including the lead sheets in fear of copyright laws. I can't tell you the amount of times I've been flagged on youtube for publishing "covers" of jazz tunes. I like your idea of a quick overview of the tune, that is something I will do moving forward. The next lesson I have planned is Have You Met Miss Jones. I will make a point of taking your advice on that one. Please feel free to continue to offer suggestions for improvement or of future lessons!
