Hola!
In my work on the scale syllabus this week I decided to do all of the related drop-2 and drop-3 voicings for each mode. There's some nice (and surprising) stuff to discover.
Two of the modes in particular offer simple solutions for upper extension playing:
Dominant 7 (b13 b9) - Phrygian dominant mode forms a m7 (b5) chord from the 7th of the parent chord. If the chord were G7 (b13 b9) I would comp on Fm7(b5)
Dominant 7 (#13 b9)- Altered scale forms a Maj7 (b5) chord from the 3rd of the parent chord. If the chord is G7 (alt) I would comp on Bmaj7 (b5) to access the color tones.
Also....
The quick way to get the drop-3 voicings on the 2-3-4-6 string set is to move the top note of the -1-2-3-4 drop-2 voicing to the low E-string. (I imagine many of you have discovered that one.)

Here's another one.
Performing a "Drop1 and 3" on a drop2 results in a drop2 on the next lower stringset with the top note 2 chord tones lower.
