How do you feel about Pat Martino's book

Linear Expression's..... I don't find them the most exciting lines, but I'm only a 3rd though the book.But I do see how you learn to play everything as minor.... but not sure if I'm crazy about the sound for example playing Dm line over Fmaj7 chord

Great book! The lines are incredible. You’ve got to play them like he does, listen to the recordings. Those lines are straight up Pat Martino.

It seems that a lot of rockers don't like the sound of the major 6 chord; so common in standards and most jazz of the masters. they tend to favor the maj7, instead. You would think that their ears would be conditioned by listening to country or Allman Brothers era rock (major pentatonics). I listen to a lot of jazz, chuck full of maj6 and maj69 and don't get it.
