What picks do my fellow Jazz guitarists (or aspiring Jazz guitarists) like? Barry?

I've been using the standard shaped Dunlop tortex 1.14mm picks and the Dunlop Primetone standard 1.5mm picks with a grip. I find the grip really helps with control and the Primetones last a long time.

I use Jim Dunlop Stubby 3.0 mm. The smaller ones.

Dunlop Jazz III (and don't believe Eric Johnson, the red ones are the same as the black ones)

I like the Pro Plec 1.5mm. It plays and sounds great for Jazz.

I like the Dunlop Jazztone 205. It doesn't have the clicky tone of many plastic picks.

I alternate between Dunlop Tortex 1 mm and D’Addario Classic 1 mm.

Several years ago I discovered the Dava line of pics and use them exclusively now. Since I play outside a lot in my area (restaurant decks by marinas, restaurant patios, parks etc. ) my finger sweat and zoooom.. off goes the pick. The Dava pic has a rubber coat with a great grip. The larger pic is actually 3 pics in one according to where you hold it. I most often use the smaller Dava Jazz Pic. It gives me the soft jazz tones I like but I can also dig with it and up come the sharper, brighter tones. Mostly, I just like the way it stays in my hand when I am comping with the fingers on my right hand.. I hold it between my index and second fingers. The rubber coating keeps it in place until I need to retrieve it. They are not for everyone I am sure but are worth a try if you haven't yet.
