Barry Greene Video Lessons

Hi all, I’m new to the site but I’ve managed to watch a lot of the essential and stepping stone videos.

Although some will take time to get under my fingers, most of the concepts worked really well with the level I had worked up to myself before joining Barry’s website. I now want to try some of the tune based lessons.

I was hoping some of the more experienced members here could offer advice on which of the tune based videos are best to start with.

Ive just started watching autumn leaves as I had guessed that would be entry level and indeed Barry himself mentions that he had it in mind for the video to be more of a fundamental (chilled 😆) lesson, compared to other videos which had more advanced concepts.

Which tune based videos would you recommend I go through first?

If you’re comfortable with the essential lessons, you should have no problem with any of the tune based lessons. Just pick ones that you enjoy!

Thanks Barry. I have given a few tune based lessons a try since posting this, and you’re right, they have all been great so far thank you. I Just decided to start with the tunes I knew or liked and I’m enjoying these all thanks

Autumn Leaves is a great place to start. That will get you a Major and Minor ii-V-I. There will never Be Another You is another good one that gives you a ii-V to the IV, a Major-Minor and an extended Turnaround. Add in a Blues and Oleo for Rhythm Changes and I'll bet you will have 80-90% of the harmonic material you will encounter in Standard Tunes.
