Living in Austin I am witnessing first hand the toll the virus is taking on gigging musicians. We can count our blessings that practicing guitar is something we can still do in this climate. However, those who gig for a living are experiencing very tough times. I'm thankful that Barry's primary gig is at the University.
Let's all keep in mind our brethren in the music community who are suffering these days. I'm not trying to compare to our doctors, police, fireman, delivery, grocery store etc. who certainly deserve our praise, but all of us know the importance of the arts and music in particular and what that does for the soul. I fear that the industry will suffer a huge loss in these times. Especially the genres on the fringes like Jazz.
Along those lines, prayers to Pat Martino and his struggles. Hopefully Barry is ok with me posting a link to his fund here. The lines Barry transcribes for us all wouldn't be the same without the influence of Pat.

Thanks Kurt, yes, it's times like these that remind me how fortunate I am to have a teaching position at UNF. I too see all the gigging musicians struggling at the moment.
Thanks for the GoFundMe link, I saw that Joe D'Nofrio updated Pat's condition today. It sounds awful, I hope we get to hear him play again.
