Hi Dane,
In my experience, the challenge lies in transforming all the theory and technique into artful music. Most people have no difficulty grasping the theory, and with sufficient technical practice, they can play the instrument proficiently. However, the most significant obstacle is creating music from all that knowledge. For me, the solution was to learn solos from the recordings of my favorite musicians and practice playing along with them daily. All the answers are available on those recordings. Hope that helps!
